Football Weekend

Football is my favorite sport, but I don’t watch much football on TV.  I just find it a little boring.  The announcers get on my nerves a bit.  The constant commercial breaks and pointless pontifications make it a tough task to watch it all.  But yesterday, I watched football for the first time in years.  It was raining and I parked my butt on the couch and had the day of it.

Michigan looked good at the end of the Notre Dame game, but it was clear they can’t cover anyone.  I’m still hopeful that Rich Rodriguez will be out of a job at the end of the season so the Wolverines can finally hire Les Miles.  We need a change at LSU.  What is scary is that Tommy Tuberville might be that change and I am not sure he is up for the job.  We’ll see.

The Georgia-South Carolina game was exciting.  Lots of points score, which is not typical SEC football.  I was pulling for the Gamecocks, but UGA was too much in the end.  The Dawgs had to be frustrated watching the team that beat them last week, Oklahoma State, fall to a team like Houston.  The Cougars took it to the Cowboys, jumping out to a big lead at the half, then returning an INT late for a TD.

I also watched the USC-Ohio State game.  Talk about overrated.  That game was terrible due to terrible quarterback play from both teams.  The USC offensive line came alive and hammered the game home for the men of Troy on the final drive.  But it was a terrible game.

Let’s see what the NFL is offering us today.
