It’s Raining, It’s Pouring

In Louisiana, we are used to a good bit of rain, especially the kind that pops up midafternoon on a near triple digit scorcher. Those rains wash out everything, keep the dust out of the air, and cools things off. Cools things off until it stops raining, that is. Then it is literally like a sauna as you can feel the puddles evaporating back into the sky that just held it.

This summer wasn’t one of those summers. Don’t get me wrong. It was hot, but it was bearable. And the rains seldom came. Well, they are coming now. It has rained every day that I can remember. I’m tired of it. Let’s dry up a little. Why does the weather have to swing so far in each direction.
