The Week That Was
Some of you may be wondering where I have been the last week. Well, last Thursday was the return of a lot of my favorite shows and my intention was to blog about them. Obviously, that didn’t happen. Now even more shows are on and I can’t catch up. So PHAIL for me. Modern Family and Cougar Town are two shows in the barren wasteland of Wednesday nights that you should be watching though. Heroes is back into its classic form. The Office is great. Community isn’t bad. Parks and Recreation seems to have improved.
Animals have been walking two by two as the rains have continued every day. So much for that drought that we had. We are never happy. It’s too hot or too cold; too wet or too dry. People don’t seem to let kids play football in the rain anymore though. I never thought I would see the day where football got rained out like baseball. You have pads on. Go play. It’s a lot of fun.
Volleyball is volleyball. I think we can win the finals in our division, but who knows? We lost to a team last night that was better than us, but we outplayed them. I choked big time. I could have served us out and served it right into the net. Figures. Hopefully, now that I got this post out of the way, I will be back in the flow because I don’t have to keep waiting for that one post that I keep meaning to write.

The Office is great as usual. Community is ok…not great..but ok. I gave up on Parks and Recreation last season. I like Amy Poehler, but that show was just a bad idea. To me, it just doesn’t fit her. I couldn’t stand to miss out after all the hype and I watched the season premiere of FlashForward. It has potential, but was just mediocre. I will watch it again though. I guess ABC plans to use it to try to keep the Lost fans when that show ends after the upcoming season. In that respect, I guess it worked so far on me, since I’m a big fan of Lost. The CSI premieres on CBS were good as usual as was Criminal Minds, although I still can’t figure out why I continue to watch the Miami version of CSI… Can’t wait for Chuck and 30 Rock to return…both great shows. Also, can’t forget what I’ve been watching in the network off-season. Psych on USA is a great little show that deserves a much larger audience. It’s goofy and unrealistic, but the quips and one-liners are great. The folks ont hat show have good chemistry.
