Birthdays

I was going to write this post about how I didn’t have any money to buy my wife a gift for her birthday way back when we first started dating and had to wait until payday.  That actually happened on her second birthday.  It caused an outrage with a mutual couple friend of ours because the guy said that even if he didn’t have money to pay his bills, his girlfriend would have a nice gift and he would pay his bills later.  Not surprising coming from a guy who powered his house from a gas generator with gas siphoned from a company vehicle because he was always broke.

Then, I was going to write about all of the great things that I have gotten my wife for various occassions and list the crappy counter gifts that she has gotten me.  Where is the benefit in that?  Besides, if I am being fair, she has gotten better about the gift giving the last few occassions.

So it’s my wife’s birthday today.  Where does that leave me?  I don’t even know.  I have NOTHING.  Maybe I will come up with something later.  I’m hoping for a good lunch today.  Who knows where that will be or even if that will happen.  Until then, Happy Friday the 13th.  Remember, you don’t have to be the fastest, just faster than the slowest.
